For Me To Live Is ChristI am a young sister from Puerto Rico who was born into a Christian family. I was meeting with a Pentecostal group for the first 10 years of my life. My father was a pastor of that small group. As the years passed by we began to realize that we were not meeting according to the pattern in the New Testament. In 1984 we met some brothers that were feeling the same way we were as to the practice of the church. They took us to a group of believers that met as the local church. They met simply as the church in San Juan. In 1985 the Lord called us to meet as the local church in Catano, the city in which we lived. We heard for the first time that we had a human spirit (1 Thessalonians 5:23) and that God, as the Spirit (John 4:24) lives in us. Our experiences of Christ became sweeter and more enjoyable. Regardless of the situations the Lord takes us through, we can enjoy the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:19). In 1987 I participated in the first conference for the young people in the local churches in Puerto Rico, and from that day on I realized that my entire life would be for the Lord, to love Him only. I feel that the Lord put me in the best place, in the local church. Today we continue to meet with the local churches and have no regrets. Even though I have passed through many difficult moments in my life, Christ has always been with me and the believers in the church have taken care of me in a sweet and gentle way. Romans 8:28 says, And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. The Lord in these times has called me I will serve Him with all my heart and with all my strength for His move here on earth. For me to say now for me to live is Christ is something I owe to the Lord and to the rich ministry in the local churches. D.Q. | Back to List |
